Fresh Fig Ice Cream with Chocolate Flecks

Indulge in the delightful combination of fresh figs and dark chocolate in this creamy and luxurious ice cream. The sweet and slightly floral notes of the figs complement the richness of the chocolate, creating a truly decadent treat.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh figs, stemmed and quartered
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped

Instructions:

Using a blender, blend the figs until they are smooth

Put the fig puree, heavy cream, milk, sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan

Stir the mixture often over medium-low heat until it comes to a simmer

Taking it off the heat, add the vanilla extract and mix it in

Put the mixture in a bowl and cover it with plastic wrap

Press the wrap directly onto the mixture's surface to keep a skin from forming

Put it in the fridge for at least 4 hours or overnight until it is completely cold

After the mixture has been chilled, use an ice cream maker according to the directions that came with it

Add the chopped chocolate to the ice cream maker during the last few minutes of work

Move the churned ice cream to a container that can go in the freezer

Freeze for 4 hours or overnight, until it is firm
