Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- For the Cinnamon Sugar Coating:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C
In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined
Spoon the batter into a greased doughnut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the doughnuts spring back when touched
While the doughnuts are baking, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating
In a shallow bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon
As soon as the doughnuts are out of the oven and cool enough to handle, dip each one into the melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat evenly
Serve the cinnamon baked doughnuts warm and enjoy!
